On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot; it is a silly place

German is fun!

Last night was our first german class. Other than the fact they had twice as many people show up for the level 1 class than expected and they now have to split the class, it was pretty good.

I have my hopes up on this format. I especially like the break, go to the bar get a beer, come back to class and drink said beer, format. After class we hit the bar for another round with Mike’s co-worker who teaches one of the kids classes. This bar has a great selection of import beers by the bottle and some decent draft German beers.

*sigh* I wish that my class came with a beer break! Damn that need to learn French first…

How’s that class been going? I have heard that it’s OK to bring guests to check it out, but you should probably wait till things settle out in a month or so. Also, I don’t think they start at the beginning again till next fall.

Oh yeah, there is homework, but nowhere like college homework and there is an assessment exam at the end, but it’s really laid back and more informative not high pressure type.

The class is going pretty well, actually. We’ve managed to miss the last two classes (whoops) but it seems like it’s going to be a good way to learn. The class is being taught entirely in French, which was terrifically confusing on the first day!

It’s a very traditional language class, basically.

*sigh* Lucky. We’ve got boatloads of homework, a workbook to use, audio recording work to do throughout the semester, and 4 exams.

We are taking the class pass-fail, so the only real pressure is the desire to learn.
