Mascots - I had a friend express her startlement at the surreality of Torino’s mascots. When I pointed her at sites that showed the long tradition of creepy little mascots, she was shocked. The Friendlies (?!) are pretty darn cute for Olympic mascots!
Brides - What, you weren’t all sunshine and light when you were a bride? I mean, come on; I know that I sure was! (*losing ability to keep straight face, begins to laugh maniacally* I was a crazy women immediately before the wedding. )
Also, there were an awful lot of “brides” in the Stadio last night. Yikes!
I would actually seek out stuffed Friendlies cause they are just that darn cute. Especially the shooting panda.
I can understand a kids are sunshine and light, or “the child of light” that the French had the one year, but brides still confuses me. And that many did become a bit scary.
