On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot; it is a silly place

Good Lord, That’s a Lot of Chairs

I’ll update this entry with some pictures once I manage to get something Bluetoothy going that can pull photos off of my phone…

We stopped in tonight to have a look at the ballroom where we’ll be presenting in the morning… and holy cow, are there a lot more chairs than I’d expected, which implies that it will be the single largest audience I’ve ever spoken in front of, ever, ever, ever, and then some.

I’m probably freaking out more than I need to, but still… Eek!

Deep breaths! I know you’ll kick ass. We’re all pulling for you and expect to hear about the fabulous presentation-giving when it’s done!

Bah, they probably just wanted to fill up space with extra chairs so the hall didn’t look empty. They’ll probably be mostly empty.

And the guys in back will be discussing cookie recipes through the whole presentation and don’t count.

    And you’ll be fabulous. ;)

    Good luck, Mike!

Remember that you and Dave know more about your particular subject than anybody else in the room. Anybody who’s there is genuinely interested in hearing what you have to say, so be proud of your room with lots of chairs.

Just use all that radio experience and you’ll do wonderfully, I’m sure!

Thanks! It was really nice to get some supportive comments before we went on. It went really, really well, felt mostly natural (despite not spending a lot of time doing practice or note-taking), and I could definitely feel the radio vibe coming to my aid — I think it was because I had a microphone, it just felt right. A lot like the ad-lib stuff at Mo and Monica’s wedding. Strange! But good.
