On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot; it is a silly place

Digging out from the holidays

I feel as if 150 cases of wine have fallen on me and I’m finally digging out from under them. I can’t believe that last time I posted was Dec. 15! But than again, between, work, holidays, parental units visiting, and everything else, I’m not surprised.

So, since it’s already after 11. Let’s do a quick wrap up.

- Guest room is now purple with wine trim. This is the first and LAST time we paint during the holiday rush and a week before guests arrive.

- Holidays = VERY busy work schedule for Liz. No complaints on the money, dear Lord no complaints, but when I hear various people complain about going back to work after having 1-2 weeks off, I kind of want to hit them.

- Guest room now has homemade curtains! Thanks Mom for teaching and most of the doing! I’m now pondering taking a sewing class and just start making stuff.

- Christmas was good to Liz. Got some great new wine glasses (2 different sets), some neat new wine books, DVDs, a DVD player, and other things.

- We have FINALLY figured out why Mike’s parents couldn’t find my Amazon wish list and have since fixed the problem.

- My birthday came and went. Mike made an amazing dinner, with very little help from me. He also got me a few new wine books with special meaning. (Ohio Wineries for one tank trips and the New Italy to help me remember our honeymoon.) Mom got me a new robe and slippers since the cats have claimed my old robe, plus a few other little stuff. Mike’s parents gave me Lost DVDs.

- Took my Mom to see Christmas Story at Cleveland Playhouse which was a lot of fun, highly recommend seeing it if they bring it back next year.

- My mom has come and left. Mike’s parents have come and left. Now it’s just the 4 of us.

- Oh yeah, the WINE for the holidays! Wow, had some great stuff. Lots of fun. Some from the cellar, some I bought from work. Weee! Sadly, I took no notes.

- Had an amazing dinner at Nemo Grille and can’t wait to go back.

- Trying to finish up my personal goals for 2006. Overall did pretty good on 05 goals. Trying to decide how ambitious I want to be.

Um, happy belated birthday! (How did you not mention the feast your Mike prepared?)

Guest room is now purple with wine trim.

I think you must have wine on the brain, since the trim is white. ;-)

Thank you for saying that - I was starting to doubt my memory =)

Happy belated birthday! It sounds like you had a fantastic birthday dinner!

(Also, I love the Nemo Grille! It’s one of my favorite restaurants in town!)

I’ve been to busy to mention lots, like the amazing prime rib for Christmas.

I love Nemo, it’s just sad we don’t go there more often. I think the hard part is there are so many great places in town.
