Large Public Wine Tastings

Now having survived 2 large wine events with 1 trade event and 3 public events I have few words of advice.

For trade tastings:
- Introduce yourself to those pouring. Even if your attending as a “guest” of those in the trade you should still introduce yourself.

- Never walk past a table loudly saying, “There is nothing to taste here” or when the name of the distrubtor is said start to frown, dump your wine and quickly walk away.

For public tastings:
- When you attend big wine events, there is no way you can taste all the wine. Learn to dump. Everyone does it, no one will be offended.

- You aren’t dressing for a night out as a hooker, don’t dress like it.

- Don’t walk up to your first table and say, “Kids are at home with a babysitter, I’m not the designated driver, and it’s an open bar. I’ll take what ever you got.”

- Don’t stand with your group of friends infront of tables chatting away, go find a more open space.
