A couple of days ago,
aquamindy posted a bit about how we bumped into some of the people involved with Westlake’s new outdoor sculpture. By the time we’d gotten over there, the light was gone and photos from my piddly little camera were out of the question. So, we went back on Saturday for the official dedication ceremony.
Without further ado, for your “gosh, I’m going to have to drive by that intersection some time” pleasure, here’s a peek at Westlake’s prodigal Harold Balazs‘ “Class of ‘46″:

Yes, it’s huge.

cool! It’s nice to see a collosal modern sculpture that actually looks nice for a change, heh
I think it would fit right in on the Case campus… When I was a student there, I would have hated it. Now, I find it strangely comforting. I think that perhaps this fact should concern me greatly.
It really looks great at that corner… It faces sort of north-east, so it picks up the sunlight in the morning (and all day), and the lights from the traffic signals and cars after dark.
Nah, it wouldn’t fit in on campus, the edges are finished!
heh.
