Thursday ponders

June 30th, 2005 1 Comment

- Some how we need to get the girls (cats) to understand our bed is not Thunderdome at 4 am. I’m not sure how other than locking them out of the bedroom, but it is getting old. On the plus side, they don’t do it EVERY day.
- I used to love working […]

Obligatory Google Earth Follow-Up

June 29th, 2005 Leave a Comment

Upon actual installation and some play time, Google Earth is just as frickin’ cool (if not more so) as I thought.
Unfortunately, my 5-year-old desktop machine here at work doesn’t have very much oomph–specifically, it doesn’t even have a “supported” video card–so it is dog slow and essentially unusable for me.
Double-unfortunately, I don’t think that “can’t […]

Obligatory Google Earth Post

June 28th, 2005 Leave a Comment

Google Earth (formerly Keyhole) is now free (for the base level of jaw-droppingly great service)!
You need Windows (so I’m out of luck until I get into the office tomorrow), but in the mean time, here’s a great first peek to whet all of our collective geek appetites. Google also provides some great samples for […]

I declare a google war!

- Google Fight is way too addective. Favorite fight right now, Paris Hilton would kick Jessica Simpsons’s ass.
- I’m going to run a 10K! I’m decided since I’ve been training to run one, I might as well do it. I’m going to take park in the Run, Jane, Run event on Aug […]

Spam the Dead

June 21st, 2005 1 Comment

I’ve been getting spam recently that’s addressed to our former cat Pixel, who died last September. I’m not really sure how to feel about this, except a bit sad and disappointed on her behalf; I think she would have liked to have owned her own profitable franchise.
Alas, it was not meant to be.

Catching Up With Cats

June 20th, 2005 1 Comment

It’s been a while (too long) since I have posted photos of the cats doing silly things, so…

Valentine in the laundry room (March 28)
Naptime in the dry cleaning basket (April
Julia, laptop copilot (April 12)
I think the standard tagline is “hang in there, baby!” (date unknown due to camera crash)
Julia is “in sink” with […]

Molé Madness

June 20th, 2005 1 Comment

Molé is a strange and magical creature, requiring great care and effort to coax into being, but wonderful to behold and enjoy. We spent the better part of a Saturday a couple weeks ago running around town to track down the ingredients; when we finally got around to preparing it this weekend, it consumed […]
