Blessing of the Vines

On May 15th, Mike and I are going out to Markko Vineyards way out by the PA border.

Here’s the description from last year. I’m not positive of the price for this year, but it should be similiar.

The tradition of blessing the vines comes from ages past. It especially includes local grape growers, Lake Erie wineries, and friends. For almost 25 years it has taken place at Markko Vineyard in the late spring. Regardless of the weather, we gather to thank God, ask his protection of the vines, and invoke his blessing on all laborers for a safe and fruitful harvest. We welcome all to celebrate God’s glorious work around us in ecumenical song and prayer at 11:00 o’clock on Saturday, May 17th. Following the Blessing at 12:30, Hil-Mak’s will start serving their delicious perch and trimmings. Please make your reservations by Wednesday, May 14th. The cost will be-$21 plus glass deposit $4. Price for Children $11. The meals includes a bottle of Chardonnay per couple

Anyone else want to go?
