As you guys know I’ve been back on my diet. I’ve been amazingly good about what I eat for meals and working out a lot, but I’ve been VERY BAD with the snacking. Eating lots after dinner, snacking on jelly beans at work, chewing gum, etc. I realized I was “stress eating” and that needed to stop. Than last night I had a really bad headache that wouldn’t go away.
Last night, I finally put the pieces toghether:
Problem: the stress from work has been making me clench my jaw so I’ve been eating or trying to keep my jaw moving so I don’t clench. Clenching is upsetting my TMJ which caused the headache.
Solution: Wear mouth guard all the time again (except when eating). Since I will only take it out for meals than I won’t snack. And the guard makes me realize better when I’m clenching.
It has worked for 1/2 the day!

Well, I don’t have TMJ, so I guess part of it is empathy, but I’m stressing out too, and noticing that I am snacking a whole lot more. I’m also biting my nails again, which is bad. Hope your stress levels decrease soon.
