I’m updating some marketing pieces, and it’s just odd getting rid of CWRU and putting in Case. (FYI: There’s a new logo and EVERYTHING. Check it out . I especially like the stupid flash thing.

What does this mean for those of us with @po.cwru.edu or @cwru.edu email addresses?
Those will still work, but it’s changing to firstname.lastname@case.edu
Which is patently iditioc given the number of foreign students that attend CWRU. How horrible is it going to be to give out / receive email addresses when you need to get in touch with people?
…so I’m not a foreign student, but I am really not looking forward to the firstname.lastname convention, either.
I will never again receive email, I tell you!
On the other hand, given the amount of spam that my po.cwru.edu address receives, maybe it’s for the best that they go for a system that’s not quite so easily exploitable. It certainly wouldn’t be as trivial to come up with working, spammable email addresses when there’s not a nice, simple algorithm to use to make guesses with.
