On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot; it is a silly place

Wednesday Vacation Update

All in all, a most wondeful day!

  • Wake up on time — done!
  • Work out — done!
  • Drive Liz to work — done!
  • Hang out with [info]gieves on her radio show (ulp! and help out on air! Whee!) — done! (And a pretty good show, I think!)
  • Lunch at new sushi place with Liz and her graphic designer buddy Sandra — tasty, fun, and done!
  • The Two Towers — inexpressible in language suitable for polite company. This movie was almost as good as my imagination, which therefore means that it surpassed all of my expectations. Thank you, Peter Jackson!
  • Dinner with Liz at Vaccaro’s Trattoria in Akron (new kitchen-home of our chef pal Pete) — tasty and done! (Although a bit sloshy ’round the edges.) I had a delicious pear and walnut salad with bleu cheese, berries, and 20-year balsamic vinegar; a fantastic roast duck with sundried cherry risotto; and a molten center chocolate cake with home-made mascarpone gelato — all paired with a bottle of kickin’ California shiraz. I might add, I am still delightfully toasty as I post this. :-)
  • Getting to hang with Pete for awhile — priceless. I have realy missed him a lot. But he’s been very very successful at Vacarro’s — you should go check it out!
  • Catching up with LJ, and discovering that I have inspired photoshop madness — excellent!
  • AIM chat with Scott regarding TTT — fun. Hope I didn’t spoil to much, buddy!
  • Sleep — come on down, you’re the next contestant…

Yeah, Pete pretty much kicks ass, both in the kitchen and in person. You’d probably get along well. :-)
